As many of you may know, with the banks in the current crisis that they are, the banks are now falling all over themselves trying to get your business. And that might mean better deals for you!
Banks are trying to get you to spend your money through them, and looking at the follow deals you can make your decision.
Here are the top 5 banks that are offering airline reward cards:
1. Chase
Chase Sapphire with Ultimate Rewards:
Every time you spend with this card, you get an amount of points back that can be used to credit your statement. These unlimited points never expire. 10,000 points on first purchase and built in travel protection are additional perks. Points can also be converted to airmiles when flying. No annual fee.
2. Bank of America
Bank of America has probably one of the best deals available, with the ability to choose from 5 different airlines, such as Virgin Airlines, Alaska Air and some smaller airlines. Some start off with a low 11.99% APR as well. Some of the airlines also offer a 40,000 Flying Club bonus points, 3 points per $1 spent on the airline ticket, and 1.5 miles per $1 spent on ANY retail purchases. This one has an annual fee ranging anything between $50 up to $99 per year, but is probably worth it if you do a lot of traveling.
3. Citibank
Citibank is another strong contender for the top spot. They currently have 11 different types of credit card that range from no annual fee up to $85 per year. Most have bonus points on joining, earning points or miles on general retail purchases. Some are airline specific, for example the Citi Platinum Select AAdavantage Mastercard, while others do not restrict you to what airline you can earn points on.
4. Wells Fargo The Wells Fargo Platinum Visa with Rewards is a reward credit card with Wells Fargo's reward program. You can earn points which can be redeemed for travel, shopping and even cash back rewards. The Wells Fargo Rewards card allows you to travel anywhere any time when you redeem points earned for airlines.
5. Branch Bank & Trust
Branch Bank & Trust are a somewhat obscure credit card issuer, but nevertheless needs to be mentioned as they do have a great rewards program (Importantly, it’s optional, so get it activated.)
The following benefits are for Branch Bank & Trust VISA Platinum credit card:
If you enroll in BBT's reward program, you can earn one point for every dollar you spend on the card. Points can be redeemed for both travel and shopping merchandise (including gift certificates).
